Jazz-fusion is a broad based genre with many different styles. It originally began in the late 1960s when Miles Davis added elements of rock to his jazz. In jazz-fusion the rhythms of rock are usually combined with jazz harmonies and improvisation. Other important musicians in this genre are Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea, just to mention a few.
