Review:   This track is from Stuart Hart's debut CD, one that I strongly recommend to any jazz fusion lover. I have known Stuart Hart for a long time, and "Ernie's Over" is an excellent representation of his jazz fusion work. Performing on this track are jazz luminaries such as Gary Thomas on Tenor Sax, and Gary Grainger on Bass. The performance and ensemble feel on the track are excellent, and the solos are sophisticated yet compelling. What is perhaps most enjoyable to me, however, is the lead melody and its harmonically involved and disjunct construction. The harmonies also keep the listeners on their toes ( no II-V-I's here!). Finally the rhythm is given a real spirited lift by one of the Baltimore area's premiere jazz drummers, Mark St. Pierre. Let's hope we see more of Stuart's song online soon!
