Lyrics

It ain't about black depression It ain't about sunny hues It ain't about black or white or red It ain't about singing the blues It's a green thing It ain't about purple passion It ain't about jealous rage It ain't about love, or even hate Or standing here on the stage It's a green thing Don't bother me with your theories Don't trouble me with your facts I'm just trying to pay my bills Before they come and take it all back It's a green thing ©2000 Russell Alexander

Full Description

This tune features Russell "Hitman" Alexander on searing slide, Bobby Forrester (Ruth Brown's keyboardist and musical director) on organ, with a great solo. Johnny Gale keeps it pumping on bass, and did the arranging with Hitman. Of course, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie brings it all together with his trademark groove.
