Well, Bernard lists George Winston as one of his influences, and perhaps a surperficial listeners would claim they sound the same. I, however, heard a much more personal form of expression in "February Afternoon" than I normally hear in George Winston's music (or other New Age Pianists such as Phillip Aaberg for that matter). The tune is rather concented and doesn't take the listener through a cliche jungle of piano chops noodles. Rather, the simple form is gradually paced to invoke images of change in springtime before gradually winding down into a calm resolve. Very expressive piano touch also. Contemporary piano lovers need to give this one a listen.
