I have not participated much here, but I feel compelled to vent. I just read part of a thread where Mr. Fenlon argued with many regulars about money and business models. Such a public argument not only shows the less-than-professional attitude of the people in charge, it also reminds me of how good we had it when amp3.com was in business (well, when the site was actually working). I'm not saying it was perfect, but when it worked it was nice -- nice to get paid and perhaps even to have civilized conversations with other artists. I truly wish someone (perhaps in the Detroit area) would get his ass in gear and build another site using that tried-and-tested business model. I know a good Web developer who works for charity. Those were the days... Amp3 (in its best form, of course) is severely missed in these troubled OMD times.

My first and best experiences for all the reasons you mentioned. How the climate has changed. Sometimes I wonder if even amp3 would have fallen victim to the same unfortunate turns we are seeing everywhere in time. Although I am still only a year into being involved with my music on the internet, it is frustrating. Maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm still looking for the tunnel. (perhaps mp3artistarchive is an underestimated glimpse of it) "I want my amp3" - It may be a stale, sad, and pointless lament at this point, but it is worth the thread space. Dave, Said person in the detroit area cannot do anything about it, litigiation is still in progress. Also, I don't know if you saw, but the "Single Jingle" AND "Jingle Banner" names were ™'d by a red-chinesian company in HITD, Texas. Meanwhile, round up some bands to fill up http://tag-email.com Thanx ------------------ IP: Logged |

My sentiments exactly. I miss amp3, too. Thanks for the reminder about tag-email, Weap. I meant to email Doug about it, cuz quite honestly I was confused. Which as many of you know doesn't take much. ------------------ IP: Logged |
