They must think they can win this fight, or they wouldn't all be doing it....

The most significant thing is that myplay allows you to "share" your music files, just like NAPSTER.

So, AOL/Time-Warner/EMI (a big part of the RIAA) has got it's own NAPSTER.

The RIAA is going to have to sue the RIAA.

Actually I have been a member of My Play for about 3 months, And I believe they are totally above-board in this thing. They send you an email, and tell you what to download, they offer you a few things for free, but you have to buy everything else. Hey, know what, kenny? I got "big bad and blue" in my My Play locker:

Don't worry that is the AMP3 version, you got a nickel for it. Nobody else can download it either, unless I give out my email addy and password, and I aint gonna do that.

I think MyPlay is actually what gave MR the idea for Beam-It. I remember it being mentioned in an early press clip.

Good to see "Big Bad and Blue" in your locker.

I've got about 5 or 6 lockers there. From before I got CD burners. I need to get those tunes back and burn 'em, now that I think about it.

Even though you personally are not sharing, X, it is easy to do, in fact, encouraged.
Doesn't really work well if your friend doesn't have broadband I found out. Unless you encode at 24kps.

But I haven't been there in months. Might be better now.

I just checked this thing out pretty good- You CAN'T save streams as easily there as you can with My MP3. You can't copy yhe URL's into your browser, you CAN copy the URL into winamp with the "save stream" thing on, but it starts from where you left off!

They got all kinds of safeguards. HA they got it rigged, you can "save the stream" but only abour 130 kb of it and no more.

If MP3 com used this as a model, well then they did a BAD JOB of copying it- This thing is more secure than a submarine at 2,000 feet!

OH YAH- You can share your playlist and that is it, you can't give anyone access to your mp3's- Also, they watch your content, if you are streaming "illegal" mp3's it seems like they will delete them for you (You think that copy of Bela Lugosi's Dead I got in there is LEGAL?)
