Well not really I kinda posted 20 or so topics, half of which was the Spam series , "Spam #1, Spam#2, etc." all with the same content. I was determined to get noticed That's why Paradise got on my case.It all started with the DAM CD swap post I had posted. Before this, no matter what I posted, whther it be offering review exchanges, spamming for someone else (or myself), _anything_, it was mainly ignored. (with the exception of a few very cool and helpful people, one of which is on this board, Heya Lena Something snapped in my brain. The mp3.com bulletin boards were a waste of time, except for those who were already relatively "sucessful" so to speak. Fame I can do without, money, hell yeah, I'll take it, but I want to get heard by people who would genuinely enjoy my music. (BTW anyone know of any good bulletin boards I can advertise on?) So for two days, I did nothing but spam the artist area with topics. Went completely overboard. Was mainly ignored, with the exception of the moderator But the next night, I put Operation Epsilon into full motion. Those topics, after a while, were mainly ignored, which was the problem in the first place, anything I posted, for the most part, were ignored, with the exception of a few people. Also, I kept my spamvertising barage strictly limited to the Artist Area. Five key elements were important in it's "success." 1 - If I were to spam the bulletin boards at this point, I wouldn't have much to lose. So I get kicked off the mp3.com bulletin boards. Pity me. 2 - Every relavent genre must be nailed with my advertising. 3 - Anything with sexual undertones(not blatant sex references mind you) seems to pique people's interest in something. 4 - Posting to potential "hot topics" (topics that have the potential for generating many replies) as soon as they are created. It's easy to ignore a thread on these BBs but a bit harder to ignore a reply that is posted right after the main post. 5 - don't initiate a flame war, just simply post your banner and a slogan, nothing more, and keep repeating it. However, if someone is angry enough to flame you, feel free to start a new topic, with the topic subject reffering to an angry response to the flame, but in the message... banner and slogan, nothing more I usually leave such drastic measures as a last resort, a very last resort. I do not like to spamvertise in such way unless I feel it's needed. There's no sense in generating anger in a place that there is no reason to, when a simple p[ost would do. But the mp3.com bulletin boards are a jungle. I just got the megatreeplow out and had fun ------------------ Simon O'Blivious Three Way Street IP: Logged |

Wow - Simon, pretty cool. With regards to your spamvertising - sounds like you took a page out of Nuclear Tide's book and multiplied it by ten. Looks like it worked. (-: Oh, and I'll say hi to The Fixx for ya. (-: Congrats! ------------------ IP: Logged |

And if I forgot you, speak up! ) So I got a few posts, but nothing leading to anything, even boinked it a few times ("forty" is a few right?)
